Should you take a Tour from Rio Lagartos Adventures or  visit  Las Colorados?

What you will see in the Los Colorados tourist Park

The park is entirely manmade,

 It is not natural.
You may ride a bicycle, walk or signup for a bus ride on the roads dividing the salt evaporating ponds. The roads are built to carry the large equipment necessary to maintain the ponds.

You may see a few flamingos. You will not visit the feeding grounds of the Flamingos

You will see pink water which is maintained as a part of the salt evaporating process.

You will learn how salt is made.
You will see a few birds as they fly over and  a few shore birds wading.

You will not see crocodiles in the wild.
There are no mangrove trees or vegetation on the salt ponds. The salt ponds are a commercial operation. No swimming or entering the water is allowed. Bring a hat or umbrella as the sun can be very hot.

The interest in the pink water is mainly a social media phenomena.

The best time to see the pink water is in the middle of the day when the sun is high and hottest.

Contact Los Coloradas directly for information  or booking. Rio Lagartos Adventures does not bring tours to Las Colorados
